Improvement through evolution
Introducing the new generation of VUT HB (E) EC heat recovery air handling units! This equipment replaces the outgoing VUT H/EH EC ECO line of ventilation units offering numerous performance improvements.
The VUT HB(E) EC series benefits from improved protection against freezing. In the VUT HB EC A14 variants freezing danger is avoided by periodic deactivation of the supply fan to let the extract air warm up the heat exchanger. The VUT HB EC A21 utilises a bypass system to prevent freezing. The VUT HBE EC A21 units are equipped with an electric heater to boost the air temperature before it enters the heat exchanger preventing it from freezing.
The VUT HB (E) EC series also receives notable improvements in the control department. In addition to the standard functions such as speed control, alarm indication and filter contamination alerts, the automatic system of the А21 units can be remotely controlled via the Vents AHU mobile app with advanced features. All you have to do is install the app onto your smartphone and connect to the air handling unit over Wi-Fi. The new control system also allows seamless smart home integration of the units and synchronization with the Vents Cloud Server support system for remote monitoring of unit health. The new VUT HB(E) EC units are even quieter than before. This was achieved by lining the unit casing with a thicker mineral wool layer (40 mm) to cut off mechanical noise. A thicker insulation also reduces thermal transmittance (0.975 W/m2K) making the units suitable for installation in low-temperature spaces without compromising their performance and ventilation quality. An improved design of the panels helps eliminate heat bridges. The unit internals can be accessed both on the left-hand and the right-hand sides for easier maintenance and installation.
The VUT HB(E) EC features two G4 filters and an extra F7 filter for improved intake air purity. Special access hatches facilitate filter cleaning or replacement. Timely filter replacement is ensured by means of a special timer while the А21 variants with automatic control systems are equipped with a pressure sensor for more accurate tracking of the filter condition.
The new generation of the air handling units is characterised with better energy efficiency and performance. These improvements are owed to heat exchangers and low-energy EC motors. The VUT HB EC and VUT HBE EC variants have counter-flow heat exchangers with a polystyrene core. The VUE HB EC and VUE HBE EC variants feature heat exchangers with an enthalpy core which recovers both the extract air heat and moisture thus eliminating condensation. Heat exchange efficiency reaches approximately 98 % at an air capacity up to 830 m3/h.
