On 13-16 May the Kyiv International Exposition Centre hosted the 16th International Exposition “Aqua Therm Kyiv 2014” showcasing the latest in heating, water supply, ventilation, air conditioning, renewable power generation as well as bathroom, lavatory and swimming pool equipment.

Since the very first year the exposition has gained the reputation of the largest HVAC trade show in Ukraine thus becoming a must-visit annual event for the market operators, trade experts and consumers.

Although VENTS has always participated in Aqua Therm Kyiv, this year’s events have raised certain doubts in the exposition’s ability to meet the expectations. The intrinsic economic factors caused many major long-standing participants from among the key HVAC market players to withdraw just days before the opening. However, VENTS stayed true to its plans opting to double its exhibition area compared to the last year’s one. This turned out to be a winning strategy since the exposition brought all the pessimistic forecasts to shame by attracting 327 exhibitors from 20 countries worldwide and over 14,500 visitors.

VENTS has traditionally used Aqua Therm Kyiv to exhibit its wide range of technology-intensive commercial and industrial ventilation equipment. Engaging the customers directly makes a whole lot of difference while explaining and demonstrating the operation principles of a ventilation unit and highlighting its design features and characteristics. Furthermore, the exposition exhibits drive the new products to the market by enabling numerous experts, engineers and solution integrators not only from Kyiv, but also from the entire Ukraine and abroad to interact with the new offerings and see their advantages. This year the VENTS exposition area has been visited by more than 500 experts from the leading companies in the field including a hundred new contacts.

VENTS continues to invest vigorous efforts in the energy-efficient ventilation sector which resulted in the addition of new energy-efficient air handling units with EC motors: VUT R 400 TN EH EC, VUT 300 EH EC ECO and VUT 350 V EC ECO.

The VUT R 400 TN EH EC model is a completely unique innovative product. The VUT R 400 ТN EH EC air handling unit is equipped with a heat pump thereby enabling the unit to double as the ventilation and air conditioning unit. The high-performance EC motor (capacity up to 900 m³/h) and rotary heat exchanger (heat recovery efficiency up to 85%) enable a drastic reduction of the energy costs. The unit is equipped with a complex integrated electronic control unit for operation in the “Auto” “Cooling”, “Heating”, “Scheduled” and “Ventilation” modes. The operation modes of the VUT R 400 ТN EH ЕС unit are programmed via the control panel with a sensor screen and Carel controller.

The new series of VUT EH ЕС ECO air handling unitsrepresented by the VUT 300 EH ЕС ECO at the exposition offers a complete supply and exhaust ventilation solution with heat recovery. The units are enclosed in a heat and sound-insulated casings and boast the air capacity of up to 940 m³/h. The high-performance ЕС motors andthe enlarged counter-flow plate heat exchanger with efficiency up to 98% make the ECO series units extremely competitive in terms of energy efficiency.

The VUT EH ЕС ECO units are equipped with an electric heater forextra heating of the air downstream of the heat exchanger. The electric heater brings an extra boost in efficiency in the cold season or in regions where colder weather prevails.

And yet another new addition – the VUT V ЕС ECO air handling unit in a heat and sound-insulated casing with vertical piping. The VUT V ЕС ECO is also equipped with a high-performance ЕС motor and a counter-flow plate heat exchanger ensuring the recuperation efficiency of up to 90%.

This year VENTS has brought a wide range of ventilation equipment for smoke extraction systems. One of the key new additions is the KP-1 fire damper which has got a simplified design without the hot and cold zone partition. Depending on the design option the KP-1 series dampers are equipped with a mechanical actuator with a fuse element and a return spring or with an electric actuator with an integrated return spring and a backup thermal circuit breaker.

None of the visitors could have missed the centrepiece of the VENTS exposition with a bright flowery decoration – the VKDV 630-600-1.5/930 roof-mounted fan with vertical air exhaust (maximum handled air temperature 600 ⁰С). This series is actively used in emergency exhaust ventilation systems intended for forced extraction of smoke and hot gases with simultaneous heat transfer outside the serviced area in case of a fire in the ventilation systems of industrial, public, residential and administrative spaces.

The VENTS exposition was dominated by another heavy-weight representing the AirVents modular air handling series – AirVents AV 04-2 with the capacity of up to 3,000 m³/h. The AirVents modular air handling units consist of functional sections which can be combined according to the customer’s specifications for projects of various complexity to suit the specific operation conditions.

Updating its range of various industrial equipment VENTS used the Aqua Therm 2014 to introduce the VS duct centrifugal fans with energy-efficient EC motors, the АОЕ series fan heaters, the VUE2 250 P ЕС Comfo air handling units with two heat exchangers as well as the updated line of the TwinFresh Comfo reversible energy recovery ventilators.

The VENTS exhibits drew a keen attention from both ventilation experts and end users alike. VENTS has a wide range of household fans for ventilation systems in houses and flats although this year “Where’s your non-buzzing fan?” was the absolute winner among the visitors’ requests to the company representatives. In fact they referred to the QUIET super-quiet series fans featured in the dedicated creative promotion campaign launched at the end of 2013. The advertisements showed a May bug and a dragonfly with the wings neatly tied whereas the “No buzz” slogan made it quite clear that the QUIET fans are so quiet that their “buzz” levels are lower than those of the insects. The campaign scored a big hit reaching through and sticking with prospective customers – therefore the high interest to the QUIET fans from the exhibition stand visitors was no surprise at all!

In general, the Aqua Therm Kyiv 2014 exhibition was highly productive and positive for VENTS due to its spacious exposition area, numerous exhibits from the company range, crowds of interested visitors and scanty competition.

Thus, VENTS once again demonstrated its unquestionable leadership in the HVAC market and reaffirmed its stability and reputation to the partners and customers from home and abroad.
